Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized an orientation session for the Quiz Club and conducted a quiz ‘Brain Buster’ on 12 September 2024 for the newly admitted students of the 2024–28 batch.
Dr. Mihir Hota, Dean, Academics, started the event by appreciating the club’s initiative in nurturing intellectual engagement on campus. Dr. Chinmayee Padhy, Faculty-in-Charge, Quiz Club, introduced the club’s objectives, and Dr. Tyagraj Thakur, Senior Assistant Professor of English, encouraged students to maintain a questioning spirit, noting that curiosity often leads to the path of wisdom.
The event proceeded with the preliminary round. The top ten scorers were shortlisted to compete in the final round. The final round was evaluated by a jury panel comprising Dr. Simanchal Bag, Assistant Professor of Economics, and Dr. Sonalika Mishra, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering.
The winners of the event were Rashmi Ranjan Mishra and Jit Naik, while the runners-up were Khushi Kumari and Rakesh Barik.
The event fostered critical thinking and collaboration among the freshers, marking a vibrant start to their intellectual journey at Silicon West.
