The Sports Club at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized ‘ATHLON 2025’, its 14th Annual Athletic Meet on 8 February 2025.
The athletic meet is organized every year by Silicon Sports Club to promote physical fitness, foster teamwork, and provide a platform for students to showcase their athletic talents.
The chief guest of the event was Dr. Mihir Hota, our Dean Academics. The event began with the lighting of the torch followed by march-past done by students of different houses of the institute. After the march-past, various sports events like 100-meter race, 200-meter race, 400-meter race, 800-meter race, 400-meter relay race, long jump, high jump, shotput throw, discus throw, and tug of war were held. The students displayed remarkable sportsmanship and competitive spirit throughout the event.
After all the sports events were conducted, prizes were distributed among the winners of the different competitions. The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Sandeep Prusty, Secretary of the Sports Club.
The event was supervised by Mr. Biresh Kumar Dakua, Faculty-in-Charge (FIC), Sports Club, Dr. Deepak Kumar Sahu, Faculty Coordinator (FC), Sports Club, and Mr. Sampada Kumar Pradhan, Single Point of Contact (SPOC), Sports Club.
The annual athletic meet successfully celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination, providing students with a vibrant platform to showcase their athletic talents. The event not only promoted physical fitness but also strengthened camaraderie and unity among participants, leaving lasting memories of enthusiasm and excellence.
