The Robotics Club at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized ‘Bake the Idea’, a rapid ideation and prototyping competition on 19 November 2025.
The event aimed to encourage students to think critically, innovate under time constraints, and transform concepts into practical solutions.
Participants began with a fifteen-minute brainstorming window to finalize their ideas, followed by ten minutes to gather required components from the deck, and then a focused two-hour build phase to develop a functional prototype. The program concluded with a presentation round before the jury, where teams showcased not only their final builds but also their approach, problem-solving strategies, and technical understanding.
Team Voltus, led by Aditya Padhan with members including Soham Mohanty and Swayamdeep Khuntia, emerged as the winning team for their innovative prototype. The runners-up position was awarded to team Avon, led by Areen Nayak, along with team members Ayush Raj Pandit and Gladson Toppo, for their creative and well-executed solution.
The event witnessed remarkable enthusiasm, creativity, and collaboration from all participating teams, reflecting the growing culture of innovation on campus.
