Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized an industrial visit to the Hirakud Hydro Electricity Project (HHEP) in Burla on 10 December 2022. This project is undertaken by the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd.
The objective of this visit was to give the students an exposure to the industrial setting and make them understand the working of various instruments and concepts used in the project by visualizing them.
During the visit, the students were made to understand the mechanism of power generation by the HHEP officials. They were also introduced to the Artificial Intelligence enabled systems that monitor and manage the turbines, gates, water level data etc.
Students from different branches of 7th semester visited the project. They were accompanied by Mr. Biresh Kumar Dakua, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering, Ms. Ankita Panda, Assistant Professor, Basic Sciences & Humanities and Mr. Uday Kumar Pandey, Technical Assistant, Electrical Engineering.
