The Sports Cub at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized the Silicon Premier League 2K23 in December 2023. The Silicon Staff Premier League 2K23 was held on 23 December 2023 and the final of Silicon Student Premier League 2K23 was held on 30 December 2023. Both the leagues comprised of cricket matches.
The objective of conducting this event was to instill a spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork among the students and staff as well as maintain a balance between the rigorous academic curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
Silicon Staff Premier League 2K23 was played between teams Silicon Strikers and Silicon Warriors, with participation from teaching and non-teaching staff members. Dr. Asutosh Rath, Faculty-In-Charge of Administration inaugurated the match. The two teams displayed extra-ordinary sportsmanship and team spirit during the match. Team Silicon Strikers emerged as the winner of the match. The event was coordinated by Mr. Subhendu Goutam, Mr. Subham Kumar, Mr. Ashutosh Nayak, Mr. Naquib Zilani Khan, and Mr. Anurag Bhuyan from the Silicon Sports Club.
The final match of Silicon Student Premier League 2K23was played between teams Silicon Black and Silicon Blue. Dr. Mihir Hota, Dean, Academics inaugurated the match. The two teams demonstrated their agility on the field and played an excellent game. Team Silicon Blue was the winner of the match. The event was coordinated by Mr. Biresh Kumar Dakua, Faculty-In-Charge of Sports and Culture, Mr. Spada Kumar Pradhan, Mr. J.P.N. Bhanjadeo, Mr. Soumya Ranjan Dash, and Mr. Silu Sahu.
The students, staff, and faculty members of the institute showed admirable sportsmanship and participated enthusiastically to make this event a success.
