SiliconTech bade a fond farewell to the B.Tech. graduating batch of 2023 on 27 May 2023 in the North Lawn of the campus.
The farewell ceremony began in the evening with an address by Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, our Principal. Dr. Talukdar shared his words of wisdom, congratulated the students on their graduation and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors. He mentioned that our students are the ambassadors of Silicon and they must always work hard towards realizing their aims and ambitions. Quoting Thomas Edison, Dr. Talukdar further said that ‘Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety nine percent perspiration’, a principle to be followed for success in life.
The students of the 2023 graduating batch shared their experiences about being a Siliconite. Many students became nostalgic while sharing their memories. Some students also talked about the challenges that lay ahead of them in accomplishing a successful professional career.
First, second, and third year B.Tech. students also took part in the ceremony to bid farewell to their seniors. In the cultural part of the event, junior students entertained and engaged the graduating students with dance and music performances.
The students of the 2023 batch were awarded prizes for their extra-ordinary achievements. Smrutiranjan Dalai (CSE) received an award for getting a high score (AIR 250) in GATE 2023. Srijan Paul (CSE) was awarded for receiving the highest internship stipend offer of INR 50K and getting placed with the highest package of 20 LPA. Dibyajit Swain (ECE) was awarded for receiving the second-highest internship stipend offer of INR 40K and getting placed with the highest package of 20 LPA. Soumit Das (CSE) was awarded for his outstanding contribution to the Silicon Social Media Cell.
The farewell ceremony was followed by dinner. The evening came to an end with promises to stay in touch in the future.
