SiliconTech, in collaboration with inDNA Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, celebrated World DNA Day by organizing a one-day conclave on Genomic Wellness having the theme ‘Illness to Wellness’ on 25 April 2023.
Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the molecule that carries genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism. On 25 April 2003, DNA Day was celebrated for the first time in the USA to commemorate both the completion of the Human Genome Project and the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA. Since then, the 25th of April is celebrated every year as World DNA Day to recognize the discovery and understanding of DNA and the scientific advances related to it.
The objective of this conclave was to create awareness about the potential of genomics to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases to increase our longevity and improve our way of living.
The conclave comprised of expert talks by eminent speakers having expertise in different areas of health sciences. Dr. M.V. Ramanujam, Founder and CEO of Propinquity Genomics delivered a technical talk on ‘Fractal Genomics’, Dr. Biren Banerjee, Founder & Director of inDNA Life Sciences Pvt Ltd discussed about ‘Genomics and the Concept of Illness to Wellness’, Dr. A. Sreekumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Wellness Solutions delivered a talk on ‘360 Degree View on Wellness’, Dr. Vinita Kothari, Founder & CEO, Central lab, Indore shared her views on the ‘Importance of Screening’ and Dr. Sujata Kar, Director of Kar Clinic & Hospital Pvt Ltd (KCHPL), Bhubaneswar spoke on the ‘Impact of Environment on Fertility’. The talks were followed by a panel discussion, concluding with the observation that the current health system needs a wellness culture.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by our Principal, Dr. Jaideep Talukdar. 250 students and 100 delegates including 25 renowned doctors attended the event.
