SiliconTech collaborates with NITTTR, Kolkata to organize a Short Term Training Program on ‘Development of Laboratory Instruction and Manual’

SiliconTech’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Bhubaneswar extension center of the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata organized a Short Term Training Program (STTP) on ‘Development of Laboratory Instruction and Manual from 17 to 21 July 2023.

The five-day training program was conducted by Dr. Subrata Mondal, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering, NITTTR, Kolkata. The sessions scheduled from 17 – 19 July were held at the Bhubaneswar extension center of NITTTR, Kolkata. The session scheduled on 20 July 2023 was conducted at the SiliconTech campus.

The objective of this program was to enhance the skill and knowledge of the participants in designing, developing, and effectively managing laboratory instruction and manual for various educational and research purposes.

The training program involved ten sessions in total. The session dealing with lab components was conducted at the SiliconTech campus. Dr. Mondal shared the best practices for curating lab manuals and also assigned written exercises to the participants for revision. This was followed by a visit to the mechanical workshop of our institute. Dr. Mondal demonstrated a few activities using the equipment present in our workshop. He also conducted some hands-on sessions for the participants.

The five-day training program concluded with a valedictory session organized at the Bhubaneswar extension center of NITTTR, Kolkata on 21 July 2023. The chief speaker of the valedictory session was our Director, Dr. Saroj Kanta Misra.

The STTP was attended by forty-six participants from different institutes in Odisha, out of which twenty were from SiliconTech. Other participating institutions included KIIT Polytechnic and the Government Polytechnic institutes located in Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Rourkela and Raygada.

Dr. Siba Sankar Nayak, Additional Professor, Basic Sciences & Humanities, coordinated the program on behalf of SiliconTech’s IQAC.
