The Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Bhubaneswar Chapter collaborated with SiliconTech to organize the 4th Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts (CCQC-2022) on 15 and 16 October 2022. The event was launched in line with the national theme, ‘Integrated Quality Concepts: The Gateway to Global Leadership’.
A total of 150 QC teams having more than 750 members participated in this convention. Several teams from the large core sectors including NALCO (National Aluminum Company Limited), BALCO (Bharat Aluminum Company Limited), Jindal Steel and Power ltd, NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation Limited), Utkal Alumina (HINDALCO), Tata Steel, Bhilai Steel Plant, TPCODL (Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Ltd), OMC (Odisha Mining Corporation) and Paradeep Phosphate Limited, attended the convention.
Mr. Sridhar Patra, Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), NALCO graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Mr. Sashi Shekhar Mohanty, President, QCFI, Bhubaneswar Chapter and former Chairman-cum- Managing Director, NeelachalIspat Nigam Ltd (NINL), Mr. Manasa Prasad Mishra, Director QCFI and Director (Projects & Technical) NALCO, Dr. Santanu Kumar Rath, Director, QCFI and former Director (Personnel), Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC) & Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), Mr. G P Singh, Director QCFI and General Manager, SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant and Mr. Ram Shankar Das, Secretary QCFI, Bhubaneswar Chapter and Former GM & TQM, NALCO.
Our Principal, Dr. Jaideep Talukdar spoke on the occasion and enlightened the august gathering on various programs run by the institute and the academic value proposition of the institute in grooming students and making them future ready.
On the sidelines, the eminent guests were briefed about the Practice School program and the intended opportunity for consulting. Guests welcomed the idea of industry and academia collaboration in enriching the learning process and solving complex industry problems using SiliconTech’s R&D potential.
The event was a resounding success.
