SiliconTech hosts Quality Circle Forum of India’s (QCFI) 5th Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts

Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) Bhubaneswar Chapter collaborated with Silicon Instituteof Technology, Bhubaneswar (SiliconTech) to organize the 5th Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts (CCQC) 2023 from 9 to 10 Sep 2023.

CCQC 2023 provided a forum for interaction and exchange of knowledge on Quality Concepts. The theme of the eventthis year was ‘Nurture Quality Concepts for a Better Future’.

More than 800 delegates from different core and manufacturing industries participated in this event and exchanged their ideas about the current industrial problems and suggested appropriate solutions to meet the various industrial challenges.

Several teams from the large core sectors including NALCO (National Aluminium Company Limited), BALCO (Bharat Aluminium Company Limited), Jindal Steel Power, Jindal Stainless, Tata Steel Mining, Visa Steel, Utkal Alumina (HINDALCO), Tata Steel, Bhilai Steel Plant, TPCODL (Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Ltd), TPSODL (Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited), TPNODL (Tata Power Northern Odisha Distribution Limited), TPWODL (Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited), OMC (Odisha Mining Corporation), RCF (Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertiliser), Tata Consumer Products, and Paradeep Phosphates Limited attended the convention.

Different concepts like Case Study Presentation, Knowledge Test, Home Kaizen, Quality Circle, Safety, Poka yoke, Home 5S were presented in CCQC 2023. Various competitions,namely, essay writing, slogan writing, and poetry composing were organized to encourage creativity among the participants. These competitions were based on the theme of ‘Nurture Quality Concepts for a Better Future ‘.

Mr. Sashi Shekhar Mohanty, President, QCFI, Bhubaneswar Chapter and former Director (Technical), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) & Chairman-cum- Managing Director, NeelachalIspatNigam Ltd (NINL) was the Chief Guest of the event.

The event was coordinated by our Industry Interface Cell (II Cell) under the supervision of Dr. Sanjit Kumar Swain, Faculty-in-Charge of the Cell. A team of twenty five student coordinators led by Ritish Mohanty (ECE, 2024), collaborated with twenty five staff members from the establishment department under the guidance of Mr. Jitendra Nayak, to ensure the seamless execution of the event.

It was a successful collaboration. All the participants appreciated the efforts of the organizers and expressed their gratitude for conducting such an engaging and enlightening event. The event encouraged the spirit of competition, teamwork, and continuous improvement to gain and sustain a high level of team motivation.
