The IEEE Power and Energy Society (IEEE PES),Bhubaneswar Chapter collaborated with Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (SiliconTech) to organize a webinar on ‘Challenges and Opportunities of Cyber Security in Electrical Engineering’ on 25August 2023.
The objective of the webinar was to discuss important challenges and opportunities of cyber security in the electrical engineering sector, to understand the general cyber security issues in power system networks, and to discuss the policies, procedures, and awareness regarding cyber issues in network and physical security.
Dr. Bhavesh Kumar R. Bhalja, Professor, Department of EE, IIT Roorkee was the expert speaker of the webinar. In his address, he highlighted the importance, challenges, and opportunities of cyber security in electrical engineering. He also discussed the key issues related to cyber security in power system networks. The policies, procedures, and awareness regarding the cyber security issues in the network sector were also emphasized during the session.
The webinar witnessed enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members, further highlighting the significance of addressing cyber security challenges in the field of Electrical Engineering.
