SiliconTech in collaboration with Ketaki Foundation Trust, Bhubaneswar organized ‘Obscura 2023’, a presentation and discussion on photography to celebrate World Photography Day on 19 August 2023. The objective of this event was to encourage and celebrate the art of photography and provide a platform for photographers and artists to connect, share ideas, and collaborate with each other by fostering a sense of community.
The event started with a welcome address by Mr. Satyabhusan Hota, Trustee of Ketaki Foundation Trust. This was followed by the keynote address delivered by the Chief Guest of the event Mr. Sanjay Acharya, a well-known photographer. Mr. Jugal Debata, an eminent photographer and filmmaker then addressed the gathering about the techniques of mastering photography. Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, our Principal delivered a talk discussing the various aspects of photography. Eminent photographers invited from all over the country shared their knowledge, expertise, and experiences with the audience. Students from the Silicon Photography Club also shared their work experience with the guests and audience.
Obscura 2023 showcased the art of capturing light through the journey and expertise of eminent photographers. Our guest artists and photographers shared their experiences and inducted the budding youth into the world of photography. Our experts introduced concepts from various fields in photography, its many aspects, and nuances. They also shed light on the manifold ways to frame and capture different subjects ranging from people, festivals, and moods and portray them through landscapes of imagination.
Finally, all the distinguished invitees were felicitated with mementos by the Ketaki Foundation Trust. The extensive discussions on photography came to an end with the concluding remarks delivered by Dr. Annapurna Mishra, Faculty Coordinator, Silicon Photography Club.
