SiliconTech and Ketaki Foundation Trust, Bhubaneswar jointly organized ‘Obscura- a presentation and discussion on photography’ on 19 August 2022 to celebrate World Photography Day. Eight eminent photographers from all over the country were invited to share their knowledge and experience with the staff and students of SiliconTech on this occasion.
Mr. Kapilash Bhuyan, senior journalist, eminent filmmaker and trustee, Ketaki Foundation Trust gave the welcome address. Next, the keynote address was delivered by our Principal, Dr. Jaideep Talukdar as the Chief Guest of the event. The session was then taken over by the invited photographers viz., Mr. Kamal Lochan Purohit, Mr. Ugresan Meher, Ms. Swati Mohapatra, Mr. Chandra Kant Pattnaik, Mr. Biranchi Sahu, Mr. K Gopinath Acharya, Mr. Subhendu Bhattacharya and Mr. Ashis Dhir (Co-ordinator). Each of the illustrious personalities shared their work experience with the budding photographers of Silicon Photography Club and other audience members.
The session involved presentations on photography as a skill and the journey of photography since its inception. The invited photographers showcased the masterpieces including photographs of star-studded skies and astonishing videography carved out of several hundred pictures merged together. They amazed the audience with mesmerizing wildlife photographs and shared their stories behind each click. The workshop provided the emerging photographers tips and tricks that would help them to master the skill of photography.
The extensive discussions were followed by an interesting interactive session where the guest speakers replied to the queries of the audience on the art and skills of photography.
Ketaki Foundation Trust felicitated the distinguished guests by presenting them with mementos. Dr. Annapurna Mishra, Faculty Coordinator, Silicon Photography Club, delivered the concluding remarks.
