SiliconTech, in partnership with OITS, organizes the 19th OITS International Conference on Information Technology (OCIT 2021)

The department of Computer Science and Engineering of SiliconTech, in partnership with Odisha Information Technology Society (OITS), organized the 19th OITS International Conference on Information Technology (OCIT 2021) at Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (SiliconTech) from 16 – 18 December 2021.

OCIT (OITS International Conference on Information Technology) is a premier international conference and forum for high quality research in the area of Information Technology. Researchers from industry, research labs, and academia presented, shared and discussed their innovative ideas in a fast-changing IT world. A number of eminent academicians, computer scientists, professionals, software designers and developers attended the conference. The forum established a bridge between academia and industry in a wide range of fields such as Data Science, Machine Learning, Networking, and Information Security, Cloud Computing, and the Internet of Things.

The conference received over 200 papers from researchers around the world. Following a double-blind review, only 87 papers were selected for presentation. Each of the papers was presented at the event, followed by a question and answer session with the audience and session chairs. There were twelve parallel sessions and six keynote talks, including one industrial presentation.

Professor Saraju P. Mohanty from University of North Texas, USA, Professor Baek-Young Choi from University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), USA, Professor Srinivas Katkoori from University of South Florida (USF), USA, Dr. R. Nagaraja, Founder and Director of PRDC Bengaluru, India, Professor Mukesh Mohania from IIIT Delhi, India, and Mr. Satendra Singh, Chief Technology Officer of Propelld, Bengaluru were the eminent keynote speakers.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Ashok Kumar Basa, a well-known structural engineer of India, Guest of Honor Dr. S. Basu, Director, IMMT Bhubaneswar and an engineer of international repute, General Chair, Prof. S. Padhy, Program Chair, Dr. Niranjan Kumar Ray along with our Principal, Prof. Jaideep Talukdar, and our Dean Research, Prof. Jayashree Das.

Dr. Niranjan Kumar Ray, announced the two best papers of the conference namely, ‘Detection of Deep-Morphed Deepfake Images to Make Robust Automatic Facial Recognition Systems’ by Alakananda Mitra, Saraju P. Mohanty, Elias Kougianos from University of North Texas, USA and Peter Corcoran from National University of Ireland, Ireland and ‘A Design Approach for Double-Band Pass Filter Using Functional-Linked Cat Swarm Optimization Algorithm’ by Judhisthir Dash, Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar.

The event took place in hybrid mode (online and offline), with 300 active participants. It was a huge success, with participants and delegates expressing great appreciation.
