Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (SiliconTech) observed its 20th Foundation Day on 10 September 2021. Our Principal, Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, gave the introductory welcome address. The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Srikanth Sundararajan, a member of our Governing Body.
Dr. Sundararajan is a graduate from IIT Madras and has completed his Masters and Ph. D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, United States. He spoke on the latest ‘Tech Trends for Today and Tomorrow’. He spoke about how India is going through immense digital sea change, the relevance of startups in the context of this change, the top Tech Trends (2021-2025) and how data is key in impacting several technological verticals like IoT, 5G, Security, RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and Edge Computing. The impacted segments today are primarily healthcare, insurance, financial services, education, manufacturing, agriculture and consumers which are undergoing a robust change.
The talk was followed by Q&A session and inauguration of our new Makers Lab. It was in fact a moment of glory for the Institute to have completed two decades of service in the field of education and to have evolved as a premier Institute.
