SiliconTech organizes a certificate program on ‘Power Distribution Management’

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, in collaboration with the Industry Interface Cell (II Cell) organized a certificate program on ‘Power Distribution Management’ for the 7th-semester students on 12 September 2024.

The objective of the program was to equip participants with advanced technical skills in designing and optimizing power distribution networks while deepening their understanding of regulatory frameworks and management practices. It emphasized key areas such as financial planning, strategic decision-making, and enhancing operational efficiency to promote sustainability and long-term growth in the power sector.

The event featured valuable insights from industry veterans, including Mr. P.K. Pattnaik, General Manager of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL), and Mr. Buddish Kumar Behera, Senior General Manager at Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL). Their deep expertise and practical knowledge offered students a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field. Dr. Ramaprasad Panda, Dean (Student Affairs), further added to the occasion by sharing encouraging remarks that set an optimistic and forward-looking tone for the course.

One of the program’s key strengths lies in its balanced approach, combining rigorous classroom instruction with hands-on industrial visits. By bridging the gap between academic concepts and practical applications, the course promises to deepen students’ understanding of the power distribution sector and equip them with the skills required to thrive in a dynamic and evolving industry.

The knowledge and experiences gained through this program will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping the participants’ future careers in the power distribution industry.
