SiliconTech organizes a Faculty Development Program on ‘Entrepreneurship’

SiliconTech’s Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) in association with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, organized a two-week online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Entrepreneurship’ from 10 – 22 April 2023.

The FDP began on 10 April 2023 with the welcome address delivered by our Principal, Dr. Jaideep Talukdar. Dr. Mahendra P. Agasty, the Program Director and Faculty-in-Charge, ED Cell discussed about the objectives of the FDP.

Several interactive sessions were conducted in the FDP. Mr. C.R. Patnaik, the former Regional Head of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) took sessions on ‘Achievement Motivation’. He also conducted tests and management games to make participants aware of their motivational levels. Mr. Deepak Choudhury discussed about opportunity identification and business plan development. A special session titled ‘Interaction with a successful Entrepreneur’ was organized in which the participants interacted with Mr. Jay Dash, Director (Strategy) at the ASHWINI Group of Hospitals. Mr. Amit Tripathy, Executive Director, Shine Group, Mr. S.K. Ratha from the MSME Development Institute, Dr. D.S. Mishra, Deputy General Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Ahmedabad, Dr. Pavan Kumar from Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar and Dr. T.K. Pany from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack were among others who took various sessions in the FDP.

Dr. Mahendra P. Agasty also chaired a session on the concluding day. The participants of the FDP presented the curriculum on entrepreneurship developed by them as part of the training. A total of 93 faculty members from SiliconTech and other institutes across India participated in the FDP.
