SiliconTech organizes a four-week ‘Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Program’

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) at SiliconTech conducted a four-week ‘Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Program’ (TEDP) in the virtual mode from 17 April – 12 May 2023. The program was sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India.

The objective of the program was to encourage young technocrats to take entrepreneurship as their career and train them for finding solutions to real-life problems.

In the inauguration ceremony held on 17 April 2023, Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, our Principal delivered the welcome address. Dr. Mahendra Prasad Agasty, Program Coordinator and Faculty-in-Charge, ED Cell spoke about the objectives of the program. Mr. C. R. Pattnaik, Former Regional Head at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), addressed the participants and encouraged them to sincerely attend the program for enhancing their knowledge and skills.

The TEDP primarily focused on training budding entrepreneurs in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) designing and industrial automation manufacturing. The participants were provided with hands-on training in indigenous technologies to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop innovative techniques for problem-solving. During the four-week program, renowned resource persons including trainers, faculty members from reputed management schools, bankers and different government officials conducted sessions to emphasize the different aspects of entrepreneurship.

A total of ninety participants had shown their willingness to participate in the TEDP. Twenty five participants were selected among them to participate in the program and benefit from it.
