The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Student Chapter at SiliconTech organized a technical talk on ‘Roles and Responsibility of an IT Engineer and Career Opportunities in IT Sector’ in the virtual mode on 11 November 2023.
The objective of the event was to make students aware of their roles and responsibilities as Information Technology (IT) engineers and shed some light on career opportunities in the IT sector.
The talk was delivered by our alumnus Swapna Sanjog Mohanty from the CSE 2022 graduating batch. Currently, he is working as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon. In his address, Swapna imparted invaluable insights into the roles and responsibilities of an IT Engineer and emphasized diverse career opportunities within the IT sector. Furthermore, he shared his personal journey for the benefit of juniors, offering thoughtful guidance on making wise domain choices. In the interactive session following the address, he responded to queries about internships, CGPA, essential skills in the IT sector, and job opportunities. He concluded the talk by providing practical tips on requesting referrals within a company.
The students enjoyed the engaging session and learned a lot about the opportunities in the IT sector.
