SiliconTech organizes a technical talk on ‘Soft Reliability Aware Scheduling of Real-time Applications on Cloud with MTTF Constraints’ by Dr. Aryabartta Sahu from IIT, Guwahati

The Departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Master in Computer Applications (MCA) at SiliconTech jointly organized a technical talk on ‘Soft Reliability Aware Scheduling of Real-time Applications on Cloud with MTTF Constraints’ on 31 May 2023. The talk was delivered by Dr.Aryabartta Sahu, Associate Professor, CSE, IIT Guwahati.

The objective of this talk was to create awareness about the reliability of the cloud system that needs to be duly considered while designing a scheduling strategy for executing resource-intensive, latency-sensitive applications.

Dr. Sahu is a prolific researcher along with being an educator. His broad areas of research interest include High Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Systems, Multicore Systems (Architecture, Scheduling and Mapping) and Embedded Systems. In his talk, he discussed about a research work that proposes an efficient scheduling strategy for executing real-time applications (scientific applications). The main objective of this strategy is to maintain the reliability constraints of both the cloud system and the applications, while also considering the deadline constraints of these applications.

A total of ninety nine students and faculty members attended the engaging session. Dr. Chitaranjan Tripathy, Senior Professor and Research Advisor at SiliconTech presented a memento to the speaker as a token of appreciation.
