SiliconTech’s Red Ribbon Club (RRC) collaborated with Silicon Students Council (SSC) and the National Social Service (NSS) Club to organize a Blood Donation Camp on 4 November 2023.
The donation camp aimed to save lives by collecting blood from volunteers, and create awareness about the importance of blood donation. Additionally, it encourages civic responsibility and community participation.
The donation camp was inaugurated by Dr. Saroj Kanta Misra, our Director. Other members present during the inauguration were a team of doctors, Faculty Coordinators of different clubs, Secretary General of SSC, students, and volunteers.
More than hundred students and eleven staff members volunteered to donate blood for a noble cause. A total of 105 units of blood were collected by the Red Cross team, Unit-6, Capital Hospital. The Red Cross team further rewarded SiliconTech with eleven blood bank coupons which can be used during emergencies.
All other necessary arrangements including refreshments and resting area were made in the campus keeping in mind the health and comfort of the volunteers and donors. The enthusiasm of the volunteers encouraged the team to organize more such camps in future.
