SiliconTech organizes ‘Prarambh’, an entrepreneurship awareness program

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized ‘Prarambh’, an entrepreneurship awareness program on 28 September 2024.

The program sought to foster entrepreneurship by encouraging students to tackle real-world challenges through innovative, value-driven solutions. Its goal was to nurture a mindset of creativity and problem-solving, empowering students to turn their ideas into viable business ventures while raising awareness about the impact of entrepreneurship in creating economic value.

Dr. Mahendra Prasad Agasty, Faculty-in-Charge of the ED Cell, inaugurated the event by highlighting its objectives and underscoring the crucial role of entrepreneurship in the modern economy. He also introduced upcoming initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and business development among students, encouraging them to seize opportunities and contribute to a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The program’s highlight was an inspiring session by accomplished entrepreneur Mr. Subrat Kar, Founder of MotorFloor and Vidooly. Mr. Kar shared his entrepreneurial journey, starting with the launch of Vidooly in 2014, a company that revolutionized YouTube video marketing. He also introduced VidooMail, a tool enabling content creators to send videos via email while tracking performance through advanced analytics. After successfully exiting Vidooly in 2022, he founded MotorFloor, a platform offering valuable insights into India’s commercial vehicle market.

In his talk, Mr. Kar discussed the motivations behind his ventures, the challenges he faced along the way, and the strategies he used to overcome them. He provided insightful advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of resilience and a mindset of continuous innovation in the face of adversity.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to engage directly with Mr. Subrat Kar, gaining valuable insights into entrepreneurship. To further ignite interest in entrepreneurial pursuits, the ED Cell organized a quiz competition, offering exciting prizes to the winners. With one hundred fifty students participating, the event was a resounding success, fostering a dynamic environment of learning, inspiration, and innovation.
