The Meta Academics Cell at SiliconTech organized ‘Sabda-Tattva 2023’, the first inter-college literary fest on 24 and 25 November 2023.
The fest aimed to foster the literary skills and creativity of students by organizing various competitions in writing, poetry, and debates. By uniting students from various institutions, the literary fest also encouraged cultural exchange and networking among the participants to enhance their communication and leadership skills.
The event featured several competitions including Write-a-Tale, Poetic Arena, Leadership Challenge, Lok Sabha, and Parachute Drop.
In the Write-a-Tale competition, participants showcased creativity by crafting stories based on randomly chosen characters, situations, and objects. Poetic Arena witnessed the participants showcasing their poetic prowess in two rounds by composing poems on given themes and then reciting these poems in rhythm. The Leadership Challenge involved group discussions, debates, and personal interviews. In the Lok Sabha challenge participants engaged in Parliament-style debates by simulating the lower house of the Indian Parliament, the Lok Sabha. In the Parachute Drop competition participants were assigned real-life personalities and they engaged in a debate on who deserved the sole parachute in a hypothetical air crash.
More than a hundred students from different institutes across the state participated in various competitions.
In the Lok Sabha challenge, High commendations were awarded to Abhishek Shaw from Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC), Kolkata, and Sai Supratim from Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar. Special Mentions were made to Sameer Sinha and Amlan Tripathy from SiliconTech. Honourable Mentions were presented to Yuvraj Biswal from SiliconTech, Arpita Priyadarshinee Sahoo from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and Anusika Das from SiliconTech. Siddhartha Mishra won the Write-a-Tale challenge from SiliconTech and the runner-up was Ashutosh Das from Siksha O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University, Bhubaneswar. In Poetic Arena Aradhana Dash from SiliconTech emerged as the winner and Ashutosh Das from SOA University, Bhubaneswar was the runner-up. The winner and runner-upof the Parachute drop were Aditya Sahoo from SiliconTech and Siddharth Sankar Senapati from the Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR) respectively. Leadership Challenge was won by Sushree Mahapatra from SOA National Institute of Law and J.K. Gayatri from SiliconTech was the runner-up.
All the winners were awarded prizes for their exemplary performance in the Literary Fest.
