The Cultural Society and Meta Academics Cell at SiliconTech jointly organized ‘Sangam2023’ a music fest on 25 November 2023. Students from different higher secondary schools and colleges in the state participated in this fest.
‘Sangam’ literally translates to an amalgamation of different cultural practices and their exchange through various art forms. The objective of this fest was to bring together students from different cultural backgrounds to experience the musical journey and develop a sense of respect and sensitivity towards each other’s customs and practices.
The music fest comprised of various competitions in different genres like dance, song, and instrumental. A total of fifty participants took an active part in this fest.
In the preliminary round, the participants uploaded videos to showcase their talents virtually. The best performers were selected by a panel of judges for the final round which was held at the SiliconTech Auditorium on 25 November 2023.
On the final day of the event, the students of Silicon Cultural Society performed a play based on the seventh episode of the Hindi epic ‘Rashmirathi’. The play was followed by a panel discussion session in which eminent dramatists including Dr. Ramakanta Mishra, Mr. Latatendu Rath, and Sri Nabeen Ku. Parida shared their experiences with the students.
The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony. The winner and runner-up of the song competition were Ayush Lenka and Tejaswini Jena from SiliconTech. The winner of the dance competition was Swati Sonalika Panda from SiliconTech and the runners-up were Anwesh Rao from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Roshni Panigrahy from SiliconTech. Trisha Jana and Prathama won the mono-act competition from SiliconTech. In the instrumental competition, the winner was Arpit Nayak from SiliconTech and the runner-up was Prajjwal Sutar from Sai International School, Bhubaneswar.
