SiliconTech organized Zygon, the annual cultural fest of the Institute on 31 March and 1 April 2023.
The 2-day event was organized by the Silicon Students Council in association with the different clubs of the institute. For the first time, Zygon comprised of day-long events. During the first half, various competitions were organized by the clubs and societies. In the latter half, cultural events were organized in which students showcased their creativity and innovation.
Different activities were organized to facilitate the increased participation of students and enhance their technical talent, communication skills, acting skills, presence of mind and creativity. On the morning of 31 March 2023, various events including Reporting, Sprints, Quiz, Rang-e-Hath, Valorant-1, Drama, IPL auction, Corporate Roadies (Personal Interview), Panchayat, Iclique, and Feel the Reel were organized.
The cultural activities began in the evening. All the students, staff, and faculty members gathered in the North Lawn of our campus to witness the celebration of art and artists. Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, our Principal, Dr. Saroj Kanta Misra, our Director, Dr. Debabrata Kar, Dean (Academics), Dr. Ramaprasad Panda, Dean (Administration & Student Affairs), and Dr. Jayashree Das, Dean (Research) came up on stage together to light the lamp and address the audience.
There were melodious musical presentations and beautiful dance performances. Students of different branches performed their respective group dances and also walked the ramp with poise and elegance.
Many more competitions like Andhadun, Poster Presentation, Valorant (Part- 2), Drama, Mimicry, Treasure Hunt, Corporate Roadies (Activity), and Open Sword, were organized on the second day. The winners of different events along with the winners and runners-up of the recent athletic meet were felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony. The secretaries and core members of different clubs were also felicitated for their contribution to successfully organize Zygon 2023.
Later on in the evening, the cultural events were held in the North Lawn. Our music band, Samarpan performed melodious renditions and the Silicon Theatre Club performed a drama titled ‘Kancha Abhijan’.
The event concluded with the felicitation of the Student Council members. A total of 1100 students participated in different events held in the 2-day cultural fest.
