Dr. Biranchi Narayan Rath, received a grant of ₹15 lakhs under the Teachers Associateship for Research Excellence (TARE), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India to carry out research in the area of active noise control.
TARE scheme aims to facilitate faculty members from state universities, colleges, and private educational institutions to conduct research in established public funded institutions such as IITs, IISc, IISERs, National Institutions (NIT, CSIR, ICAR, ICMR lab, etc.) and Central Universities.
The project is titled as ‘Discrete-Point Control Based Adaptive Active Noise Regulation System Implementation Using Deep-Learning Regression Techniques’.
The objective of the project is to apply deep learning techniques to optimize the performance of active noise control systems so as to provide a user adjustable control for acoustic noise ingress within a particular region (quiet zone) by estimating noise levels through discrete point measurements in and around the control region, and optimizing the location and spectral characteristics of anti-noise sources in order to achieve the best results.
The project duration is from December 2021 to December 2024.
Dr. Biranchi Narayan Rath, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at SiliconTech is the Principal Investigator. Dr. Debi Prasad Das, Principal Scientist, CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar is the mentor for this project.
