SiliconTech team Develoopers comprising Nirmal Kumar (CST), Anisha Singh (CSE), Suman Tripathy (CSE)and Nilesh (CST) from the 2024 graduating batch won the third prize in Project Expo’ 22. This event was conducted by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) in Sasi Institute of Technology and Engineering, Tadepalligudem, Andhra Pradesh on 4 November 2022.
Our team showcased their project, VisitorsOpedia which is a mobile android application that helps in contact tracing during pandemic-like situations and provides various citizen centric services. The problem statement was based on the hassles caused due to repeated collection and storage of data during pandemic.
The lockdowns imposed during Covid-19 made our daily life difficult. Every time we visited a hospital, shop, or an institute we had to register and give our personal details at the entry point which was then registered manually by using pen and paper. This consumed a lot of time and crowded the entrances.
The app, VisitorsOpedia proposed a solution to the above-mentioned problem by providing a QR code-based approach which contains the client’s encrypted phone number, name and other important details. Whenever the user’s QR code is scanned at any entry point, the data is decrypted and saves the user data in the database with scanned date and time thus saving time, effort and reducing distractions and disturbances in the background. In addition to this, scanning provides more accurate and reliable results avoiding the human error caused during registering the data.
The idea of the Develoopers team members was highly appreciated and they were awarded prizes.
