SIPC conducts internal hackathon to select teams for Smart India Hackathon 2022

The Student Innovation & Promotion Cell (SIPC) organized an internal hackathon to select teams for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 on 26 March 2022.

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving. The students use coding and application development and hardware prototype models to come up with solutions to the problem statements. SIH consists of two rounds.  The first round was conducted at the Institute level, and the final round will be conducted soon at the National level.

21 teams, each team comprising of 6 members, participated in the event across all branches. Out of these twenty one teams, seven teams were selected to participate in the final round of SIH 2022.

This event provided a glimpse of the actual events that take place at the different SIH nodal centers. The ambience was full of energy and enthusiasm. We had evaluators from Silicon and as well as from the industry. Mr. K. M. Rajan from CTTC, Dr. Suraj Sharma from IIIT, Mr. Shailendra Upadhyay from Cozentus  and Mr. Vamsi Krishna from Datoms  were the external jury members, while Prof. Pradyumna Tripathy, Prof. Saroj Rout and Prof. Bhawani Pattnaik were the internal jury members for the software and hardware versions. The jury members were impressed with all the teams and it was very difficult to select the seven best teams from this tough competition.
