Srijan Paul, from the 2023 batch of B.Tech. CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) program at Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (SiliconTech), has been placed at DeepSource with a package of 28 LPA. It is the highest package received by a graduate of the B.Tech. batch of 2023.
Prior to this, he worked remotely as a student developer in Google Summer of Code 2021 at LabLua, PUC-Rio, Brazil. He was also selected for Tezos India Fellowship 2.0 to work in the domain of blockchain development where he developed an NFT (non-fungible token) generator. Following this, he joined DeepSource in 2021. He worked as an intern with DeepSource from 2021 till he got placed in the company in 2023. In his final year of internship at DeepSource, he received a monthly stipend of ₹50,000.
During his internship, Srijan wrote a linter, similar to ESLint that analyses and fixes JS/TS/JSX/Vue code. He also built a fast, scalable duplicate code search engine with support for reverse indexes and authored a pluggable taint analysis engine for JS projects similar to Facebook’s Pysa. Along with this, he optimized analysis runners to fix timeouts and bring run times down. He also brought False Positives down by over 50% over the course of 3 months. Furthermore, Srijan co-authored a gRPC service that runs on the user’s machine and connects their IDE to the DeepSource cloud.
Srijan’s technical skills include proficiency in Javascript/Typescript, PureScript, Haskell, C, C++17, Lua, Python, Go, x86 Assembly. He is also skilled in various frameworks like SolidJS, React, NodeJS, Express, LOVE2D, MongoDB and Firebase. His domains of interest are Functional Programming, Type Theory, Systems, Backend, and Compiler Engineering.
