The Staff Welfare Committee (SWC) at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized a health camp on 20 December 2025, aimed at promoting health awareness and preventive healthcare among the staff.
The objective of the health camp was threefold – to raise awareness about health and preventive care, to offer basic health check-ups and identify potential health issues early on, and to encourage staff to prioritize their physical well-being. The camp included screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and hemoglobin levels, with medical professionals present to explain individual test results and provide advice on maintaining good health. A dietician was also present to offer personalized dietary guidance, helping staff make better nutrition choices and adopt healthier lifestyle habits.
The camp featured a dedicated eye testing station, where qualified optometry staff conducted vision screenings for all interested participants. These screenings included visual acuity checks and assessments for common eye conditions, such as refractive errors. Participants received immediate feedback about their eye health, and those requiring further consultation were advised to follow up with an eye specialist, making the eye testing component an important addition to the overall health check-up.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Gyana Ranjan Biswal, Faculty Coordinator, Health Club, who played a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination and comfort of all resource persons involved in the camp. The health camp witnessed the active participation of ninety-six staff members and was widely appreciated for its effectiveness and impact. Organized meticulously by the Staff Welfare Committee, the initiative offered valuable health awareness to employees and encouraged them to prioritize their well-being, thereby contributing to a healthier and more informed campus community.
