Staff Welfare Committee organizes the Annual Staff Award Function 2026

The Staff Welfare Committee (SWC) of Silicon University organized the annual Staff Award Function on 14 March 2026, bringing together staff members and their families for an evening of recognition and celebration.

The event aimed to recognize and celebrate excellence among staff across diverse domains, including research, teaching, sports achievements, and long-standing service to the institution. It also sought to promote team spirit, creativity, and a vibrant workplace culture through engaging cultural programs and entertainment activities, while fostering an environment of appreciation, collaboration, and continuous professional growth among all staff members.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Prof. Pradipta Mohapatra, Registrar of the university. A presentation highlighting the key moments from the past year’s events organized by the SWC set the tone for the evening. Awards were presented across categories such as Best Researcher and Best Faculty Advisor, along with Long Service Awards recognizing 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of dedicated contribution. Sporting achievements in cricket, volleyball, and indoor games were also acknowledged. The celebration was further enlivened by cultural performances by staff, including music, dance, drama, and a ramp show titled Walk in Elegance, which added vibrancy and enthusiasm to the occasion. Awardees were honored with trophies, mementos, and gifts, making the event both memorable and meaningful.

The function concluded with a vote of thanks followed by high tea, providing an opportunity for staff and their families to interact informally. With around 500 participants, the event successfully celebrated the contributions of staff, fostered a strong sense of camaraderie, and created a warm, inclusive, and positive atmosphere. The Staff Award Function not only recognized excellence but also reinforced community spirit in the institute.
