Switch Club organizes HackOverflow – 2022

The Silicon Wing of Technical Coding Hub (SWITCH) Club, under the Student Innovation & Promotion Cell (SIPC), organized the HackOverflow-2022 (Software Edition) event on our campus on 27 March 2022.

This event, an internal hackathon, was held for students in their 2nd/3rd years of BTech, MCA and MSc. The objective of the event was to develop the culture of innovation and problem solving skills, using coding, and further establish the culture of idea sharing, effective collaboration, and creativeness among the students.

Twenty-five teams, including 92 students, participated in the event, which was conducted in three phases. The teams worked tirelessly to develop their application/products (software- based) within the given timeframe and were evaluated in 3 rounds.

 

Twelve teams were selected for the second round, on the basis of idea type and progress made and were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising of Dr. Pulak Sahoo, Associate Professor, CSE, Dr. Soumya Priyadarsini Panda, Senior. Assistant Professor, CSE & FC- SWITCH Club and Mr. Saurav Jha, Associate Software Engineer, Mindfire Solutions, Bhubaneswar, President & Ex-Secretary of SWITCH Club at SiliconTech.

Six teams were selected for the final round, where they were evaluated by an external expert – Mr. Dipankar Rath, Industry Principal, Infosys, Bhubaneswar.

Team ‘Entity’ with Swagat Beura, M. Pratik Kumar, Rudra Prakash Behera, and Soumya Prakash Sahu from 3rd year, BTech was selected as the winners.  Team ‘Devloopers’ with Nirmal Kumar, Abinash Samantray and Shweta Dash from 2nd year, BTech was selected as 1st Runners Up whereas Team ‘Leadswing’ with Manas Ranjan Padhy, Sujeet Kumar Rath, Nakkina Baba Sai and Debasish Panda from 2nd year, B.Tech was selected as 2nd Runners Up. 

The event was sponsored by the Silicon’s Student Innovation Promotion Cell (SIPC) and co-ordinated by Dr. Soumya Priyadarsini Panda, Faculty Co-ordinator, SWITCH Club.
