The Department of CSE hosts an Invited Talk on ‘High-Performance Computing and AI for All’ by Prof. Dhabaleswar K. Panda, Faculty Chair, The Ohio State University, USA

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) organized an invited talk on “High-Performance Computing and AI for All”, by eminent Prof. Dhabaleswar K. Panda, Faculty Chair, Ohio State University, USA on 22 March 2022. Our Principal Prof. Jaideep Talukdar gave the welcome address.

The objective of the talk was to disseminate knowledge regarding the integration of Supercomputers with Exabyte Computational Capability, integrated with ML/DL (Machine Learning/ Deep Learning).

Prof. Panda enlightened the audience with the applications and usability of high-performance computing models such as MVAPICH2, InfiniBand, Omni-Path, Ethernet/iWARP, RoCE, BigData sets such as ImageNet, HiBD, Deep Learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, LBNN, Apache MXNet, Horovod, DeepSpeed, and Parallel Virtual File Systems (PVFS2).

The talk was followed by an insightful Q/A session regarding technological advancements and opportunities for higher studies at Ohio State University.

A total of 200 participants, including Professors from IITs, entrepreneurs from industries, faculty members from different departments, research scholars and undergraduate students at SiliconTech attended the session and interacted with the speaker during the event.
