The B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering (ME) program aims to provide students with adequate technical knowledge and skills for a successful career in diverse fields like product development, design, development, and implementation of engineering systems and services and processes.
The core courses in the program are production engineering, design engineering, and thermal engineering. Students can learn modern software related to drafting, modeling, and analysis in our CAD laboratory. The program includes the latest subjects like finite element method, robotic engineering, computational fluid dynamics, entrepreneurship, computer-aided modeling & design, and rapid prototyping.
Project-based learning in refrigeration engineering, advanced welding/machining technology, renewable energy, material testing, automobile engineering, automation engineering, and robotics build their expertise in particular areas.
The program offers several interdisciplinary subjects such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, non-conventional energy sources, JAVA, C Programming, and the internet of things, focused on recent industry demands.
Students learn to develop competitive technologies and find solutions to engineering problems impacting industry and society. They learn to be team players, lead and engage diverse teams through effective communication, and acquire interpersonal and project management skills.
College life indeed has been the most special and memorable time in my life. The faculty always encouraged me to realize my full potential and were a pillar of strength through the years. With the Industrial visits, diverse workshops, and tech-fests throughout the academic session, we were trained to be industry-ready. It fills me with great pride and joy when I recollect the memories of all the projects and presentations we did. Manufacturing the Hand Injection Mould, Pedal operated Hacksaw and Surface Grinding Machine have been some of my fond accomplishments. Apart from academics, my biggest takeaway was the life skills I developed during my campus years. It helped me realize my resilience and strength, and reinstated the confidence in me to dream bigger. To those who are about to enroll in the undergraduate courses at Silicon, my only advice would be to take this as an opportunity to rewrite your life story for you’ll be provided with all the necessary tools to shape yourself.
