Silicon West provides a wide range of facilities designed to make the students’ life on campus easy and safe. There are well-appointed hostel rooms, regular bus services, an air-conditioned auditorium, lecture galleries, different food courts, and a guest house.
The campus is well connected, with the nearest railway station, Rengali being just 5 km away, and the nearest airport, VSS Airport, Jharsuguda, about 40 km away.
Resident students at Silicon West carry the spirit of accommodation and self-help, foster harmonious living, share the joy of fellowship and professional fraternity. Hostels at Silicon West are named Silicon Residences. There is one boy’s residence and one girl’s residence where students can experience the comforts of a home.
The rooms are non-AC and can host three residents at a time. Each resident will get a bed, table, chair, mattress, pillow, and a cupboard with a locker facility.
Both boy’s and girl’s residences have access to a shared recreation room. The recreation room has a television and facility for indoor games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Carom, and Chess.
A group of senior and experienced faculty members constitutes the Residence Committee. The committee is responsible for the overall administration and day-to-day management of all the residences.
Silicon West has its own fleet of buses designed as per the mandatory standards, manned by trained drivers and personnel sensitized to the needs of students. The buses are equipped with GPS, first aid kits and run in different routes covering all parts of the city.
Resident students can take the buses once a week to go to the city. The campus arranges special trips based on student requests. Apart from the buses, the small vehicles serve the administrative requirements of the institute.
Students and staff members can hire small vehicles for personal use by paying a small fee. However, students must send the request to the SPOC-Transport in advance.
The 200-seater, air-conditioned auditorium at Silicon West is an ideal place for seminars, conferences, movie shows, etc. It has an excellent audio-visual system. The Institute holds many of its academic programs, workshops, expert talks, industrial lectures, etc., in the auditorium.
Lecture Galleries at Silicon West provide students with learning spaces that are flexible, comfortable, and not classroom bound. The campus has four lecture galleries, each of which can hold more than 150 persons. They are perfect for holding small talks, mini-events, seminars, presentations, and combined classes.
Silicon West has two dining halls and one cafeteria within the campus. Each of them serves freshly prepared, delicious, nutritious food from a variety of cuisines. A common dining hall serves food for guests as well as staff members. A dedicated Canteen Committee of student representatives, supervisors, and faculty manages the operations of the canteen.
Train in Silicon West’s well-equipped gym with facilities for cardio and strength training and foam rolling for muscle relaxation under the expert guidance of a gym instructor. Students can learn yoga from a professional instructor. The Silicon West Health Club organizes webinars and talks for students to get the best advice for their physical and emotional health.
The Guest House at Silicon West has 24 well-appointed rooms. It provides accommodation to individuals and groups associated with official visits or guests visiting our campus.
Every room has a twin sharing/ double bed with attached bathrooms. They come with free Wi-Fi and 24 hours availability of hot or cold water. The guest house has a luggage store and laundry service. Guests get their early morning tea/coffee in the room. Food is available in the Silicon canteen and filtered drinking water in the rooms.
