Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) celebrated the 77th Independence Day on 15 August 2023 to embrace the cherished values of freedom, diversity, and unity. Our students, faculty members, and staff came together to pay tribute to India’s freedom fighters on this day.
Dr. Mihir Hota, Dean (Academics) hoisted the national flag which was followed by the singing of the national anthem by the students and faculty members. Thereafter, the students did the parade to the accompaniment of drums. The solemn moment was a reminder of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters to secure the nation’s sovereignty. Dr. Hota delivered a speech on this occasion to instill the spirit of patriotism and inculcate love for the nation among the students. He appealed to the students to live by the ideals propagated by our freedom fighters and contribute to nation-building through science, engineering, and technology.
The Independence Day celebration not only showcased our patriotic spirit but also reflected our institute’s ethos of inclusivity and social responsibility.
