Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rath, the former Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, delivered a lecture on ‘Role of Students to Save the Environment’ on 17 February 2020. Silicon West regularly organizes industry lectures for students to keep them aware of the latest trends in the field.
Environmental awareness imparts knowledge about the current and future situations of the natural environment. It teaches students to explore all the problems related to the environment and engage in different ways of preserving it.
Dr. Rath stressed the need to protect the ecosystem and safeguard the environment through the adoption of green technologies and reduction in the use of plastic, etc. He deliberated upon deforestation, scarcity of water, and the impact of anthropocentric attitude on the ecosystem. Moreover, he suggested measures to tackle environmental pollution.
At the end of the lecture, Prof. Enakshi Das, Dean Silicon West, felicitated Dr. Rath with a memento.
