SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, established the Department of Computer Applications in 1999. The Department focuses on advancing teaching and research in the theory, design, and development of computer-based systems, including information processing applications.
Students gain expertise in diverse areas of networking and distributed multimedia, internet technologies, cryptography and security, databases, data mining, software engineering, computer architecture, compilers, operating systems, programming languages, artificial intelligence, computer graphics and visualization, algorithms, parallel/distributed computing, and scientific computing.

The Department offers two postgraduate program.
All our faculty members have advanced degrees in computer science engineering and are prolific researchers. Seventy percent of the faculty members have a Ph.D. with their research published in Scopus indexed journals.
VIEW THE CA FACULTYSilicon ensures personalized instruction and individual attention to all students. Beyond classroom teaching, faculty members undertake consultancy projects which provide students with opportunities to learn through real-world industry and research work. Seminars, symposiums, and conferences organized throughout the year connect students to experts from outside the institute, introduce them to new developments in the field of computer applications and help them build networks.
