Yes. You can pursue a postgraduate degree at Silicon University. The postgraduate engineering (M.Tech.) programs are offered in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Silicon University also offers Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs in Data Science, Embedded Electronics & IIoT, VLSI, and Molecular Medicine. Additionally, it also offers Master of Computer Applications degrees.

Yes. You can be a working professional and simultaneously do your M.Tech. degree. Our M.Tech. classes are in the afternoon. However, if you are GATE qualified and receive a scholarship from AICTE, then you are not permitted to take part-time or full-time employment anywhere else as per the AICTE guidelines.
Admission into M.Tech is either through the GATE score or the PGAT examination conducted by BPUT. You have to attend the same OJEE counseling process with your GATE or PGAT score. Please refer to https://www.odishajee.com/ for further details.
Admission into the MCA program is through the OJEE Examination conducted by Odisha JEE. OJEE also accepts NIMCET, which is NIT MCA Common Entrance test (a national level test conducted by NITs for admission into their MCA programs). Please refer to https://www.odishajee.com/ for further details.
Students should keep the original copies of the following documents ready for admission counseling – Marksheet & Pass Certificates of Classes 10 & 12, JEE (Main) Rank Card, Transfer Certificate, Nativity Certificate if applicable, and special reservation form with relevant documents as applicable.
Yes, 30% seats in each category of every engineering program are reserved for girls.
About 5% of seats in every private college is reserved for NRIs (Non Resident Indians). To get a NRI seat, you must have a rank in JEE (Main). Allocation of NRI seats are done through the OJEE central counseling. The fee is normally four times that of the usual college fee as per the government norms and guidelines. Vacant NRI seats can be allocated through the Spot Admission process for which you have to approach the college administration.
Yes. You can participate in spot admission. Vacant seats, if any, remaining after counseling are filled up through spot admission.
If you are a domicile of the state of Odisha, then most probably, yes. However, if you are from outside Odisha, then your JEE (Main) rank should be preferably within 2,00,000. Otherwise, you have to wait for a Spot Admission against vacant seats if any.
Yes, but the student has to participate in the OJEE counseling process on the basis of JEE (Main) rank for taking admission in engineering colleges of Odisha.
As per the last year’s statistics, if you have secured a JEE (Main) rank within around top 20-25%, then you have a fair chance of getting admission into Silicon.
No. If you are seeking admission to B.Tech. in Engineering in any AICTE approved engineering college in Odisha (except IITs & deemed Universities) then you need to appear for the JEE (Main) examination.
Yes. We provide a receipt against the full amount paid towards the fee for income tax purposes. The receipt will also have a detailed break up of the components of the fee.
The fee remains constant for four years and is the same as what is paid in the first year.
Students taking admission into a M.Tech. program with their GATE score are given a scholarship of ₹.12,000 per month by the AICTE. In addition, Silicon provides a scholarship up to ₹.10,000 per month to M.Tech. students who have qualified for admission through GATE.
Students have to submit the supporting documents as per the guidelines of the different schemes. Silicon’s Nodal Officer promptly processes the application for scholarships.
Yes, there are at least 14 different schemes (state-specific or all-state) under which the scholarships are provided to a student. Top six students of Silicon Scholars Club are provided a scholarship of ₹.12,000 per annum by the Institute. In addition, Silicon staff members contribute every year to provide scholarships to the poor and needy students.
Yes. Faculty and students are provided with partial/full financial assistance from the Institute for attending and presenting research papers in national or international conferences, workshops, symposia, and seminars. There is also an incentive program for publishing papers in Scopus indexed journals.
Yes. SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, has a dedicated Research Center headed and guided by senior professors. Faculty members and/or students involved in research projects are provided with individual chamber/cubicles and computing facilities as per requirement. We also have a research fellowship program where a student pursuing Ph.D. can join and do their research in the Research Center under the guidance of our senior professors.

Very good. More than 80% of the eligible students get placed in their very first attempt. Many students also get multiple job offers before completing their final semester.

Our Industry Interface Cell works throughout the year to prepare and place the students from both campuses in good and genuine companies.
Yes. We provide in-house pre-placement training (PPT) spread over two semesters beginning from the 5th semester of B.Tech. and 3rd semester of the MCA program.
The PPT consists of classes in aptitude development, reasoning, verbal ability, soft skills, group discussion and personal interview. We also include a technical PPT module covering Data Structures with C, C++, Java, Databases with SQL and Networking.
Company specific on-line Mock Tests, Simulated Mock Campus and Special Warm-up classes are conducted just before the beginning of the campus recruitment drive.
The GATE preparatory classes are provided absolutely free of cost if you attend the classes regularly.
Yes. There is provision for students to take up the in-house GATE coaching classes that start in the fifth semester. GATE classes are conducted separately for the Computer Science (CS) and Non-CS stream on Saturdays and Sundays. It covers all the important papers as per the GATE syllabus. GATE qualified in-house as well as visiting faculty deliver the coaching classes.
Yes, of course. You have to qualify the GATE with a good score. Every year, many students from Silicon join M.Tech. in reputed IITs and NITs. Some students also go abroad for doing MS and Ph.D. from Silicon.
Yes. We have facilities for students to learn German, Spanish, and French. The classes are held in the evening on weekdays/ weekends depending on the number of students enrolled.

Silcon has good facilities for indoor and outdoor games, and other cultural activities. There are courts for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, ground for cricket and football ground, and facilities to play table-tennis, carom etc. inside the hostels. There is also a facility for cricket net-practice.
Yes, SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, has a Central Library in the institute. The SiliconTech library has 64,448 volumes of books, 9788 titles, 8801 reference books, 5451 reference titles, 49 periodicals subscriptions, 51,604 ProQuest e-book subscriptions, 945 e-journals, and 1528 e-proceedings. It also has three reading rooms with single-seater cubicles for 350 students.
Yes, we have a Book Bank facility in the library with over 25,000 text books. Each student is provided with seven books for the whole semester. In addition, up to two reference books can be issued for 14 days. A few specific books are issued for overnight only. Students of the Scholars Club can borrow two more books.
Yes. The library and reading rooms remain open from 2:00 to 9:00 pm on Sundays and holidays.
Yes. We have a dedicated canteen serving only vegetarian food. Dishes without onion and garlic are also served on request.

Yes. We have a fleet of buses (32 to 52 seaters) which ply through major routes of the city. You can get the college bus within about a kilometer of your home depending on your location.
We have two canteens serving vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for students and staff. The menu is defined by the student’s canteen committee and is the same for students as well as staff.
Yes. Specialist doctors visit the campus on specified days every week. We also have a 24×7 ambulance facility for use during an emergency. Reputed multi-specialty hospitals are located near the SiliconTech campus.
Yes. Silicon has separate hostels for boys and girls inside the campus.
We have an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) which motivates, trains, and helps students to become entrepreneurs.
The ED Cell helps students to develop behavioural skills, competencies, and enterprise management abilities. ED cell rolls out Business Plan competitions and other activities for giving the budding entrepreneurs a hands-on-experience in handling businesses.
We also provide guidance to students to write the business plans, prepare project reports, and assist the entrepreneurs to get financial assistance from different sources.
The ED Cell is also supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, for inviting innovative ideas from the students and assisting them to get government funding for the same.

We have an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) which motivates, trains, and helps students to become entrepreneurs.
The ED Cell helps students to develop behavioural skills, competencies, and enterprise management abilities. ED cell rolls out Business Plan competitions and other activities for giving the budding entrepreneurs a hands-on-experience in handling businesses.
We also provide guidance to students to write the business plans, prepare project reports, and assist the entrepreneurs to get financial assistance from different sources.
The ED Cell is also supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, for inviting innovative ideas from the students and assisting them to get government funding for the same.
