Silicon University with an established research base and extensive infrastructural facilities, offers Ph.D. programs in a wide range of areas in Engineering, Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, and allied interdisciplinary areas.

The Ph.D. program objectives are twofold: (a) to keep pace with the expanding frontiers of knowledge and (b) to provide research training to meet the demands of the social and economic growth objectives of India.

Silicon’s dedicated Research Center at its engineering institute campus, SiliconTech, anchors and supports an expanding research enterprise committed to producing new knowledge, strengthening existing scholarship and discovering solutions with the potential to benefit society.

More than 60% of our faculty have a Ph.D. with extensive research experience. Some of the faculty members are registered guides at various other universities. Several research scholars studying under them have received their Ph.D. degrees in different scientific and technical disciplines.

Ph.D. Program at Silicon

Silicon launched its own Ph.D. program in January 2022, in accordance with the UGC guidelines. This program has been approved by the Academic Council of the Institute. In its inaugural year, 43 candidates have joined the Ph.D. program after qualifying the entrance test and interview. The Institute Doctoral Committee (IDC) and individual Doctoral Scrutiny Committees (DSCs) are conducted to monitor the programs at Silicon. The offered disciplines are

Nodal Center for Research

Silicon University is a Nodal Center for research. More than 60% of our faculty have a Ph.D. with extensive research experience. Interested students can register for a Ph.D. and do their course and thesis work under faculty guidance in Silicon.

All the processes related to their Ph.D. degree are as per the guidelines of Silicon University, including the coursework. Students undertake these activities under the direct supervision of their respective guides, nodal center co-coordinator, and the center head.
