M.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering

The M. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering program equips a graduate engineer with advanced learning and practice in electronic devices and their applications.

Core courses include advanced communication systems, analog & digital CMOS VLSI design, memory technologies, MOSFET physics & sub-micron device modeling, low power VLSI Design, microcontrollers, advanced embedded systems, internet of things, RF & microwave circuit design, satellite communication, digital image & video processing, antennas & radiating systems, research methodology, etc.

Students can pursue their specific interests through elective courses from VLSI, embedded systems, soft computing, advanced digital signal processing, etc.

Postgraduate programs at Silicon encourage students to undertake interdisciplinary projects. Silicon supports research and practice in such an initiative by assigning additional project guides from other departments to guide the students.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

Beyond building core competencies and technical know-how of students, the program fosters creative skills to thrive in a dynamic world, develops leadership and social responsibility, and cultivates lifelong learning skills.

  • PEO1. To imbibe technical skills to create, find solutions, and propose improvements for complex problems encountered in Electronics & Communication Engineering for betterment of society, mankind, and environment.
  • PEO2. To inculcate an attitude to adopt changing technologies in Electronics & Communication Engineering through critical observation, survey, experimentation, and research independently or collaboratively.
  • PEO3. To provide professional & intellectual integrity, motivation to engage in research & development, and communicate innovative ideas effectively for advancement of society.

ACADEMIC CURRICULUM

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • PSO1. Apply concepts of Electronics & Communication Engineering to design and implement complex systems.
  • PSO2. Develop hardware, software, or embedded solutions & tools for solving real life problems in electronics and communication domains using acquired knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering.
  • PSO3. Engage as an electronics and communication engineering specialist in industry, higher studies, research & development, academics, or as an entrepreneur.

Career Paths

Industries involved in the design and fabrication of devices, integrated circuits, embedded systems, etc., provide large-scale placements for electronics engineers.
