Postgraduate Admissions

Silicon University offers three postgraduate engineering programs in its engineering institute campus (SiliconTech) at Bhubaneswar. Students can choose to pursue an M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering, Power Engineering and Energy Systems, or Electronics and Communication Engineering. The other postgraduate (PG) programs offered by Silicon are MCA (Master in Computer Applications), M.Sc. VLSI, M.Sc. Embedded Electronics & IIoT, M.Sc. Molecular Medicine and M.Sc. Data Science.

GATE or Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT) conducted by Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is the qualifying entrance examination for regular admissions into the M.Tech. programs. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is the qualifying entrance examination for the MCA program. The selection for M.Sc. programs (Data Science/Molecular Medicine/Embedded Electronics & IIoT/VLSI) is at the institute level based on the candidate’s marks in the 10th, 12th, and undergraduate (UG) programs.

Presently, the total intake is 207 for the various postgraduate programs. Selection into the postgraduate programs at SiliconTech is entirely on merit and the applicant’s performance in the qualifying examinations.

M.Tech. Programs

Silicon offers M.Tech. programs in Computer Science and Engineering (M.Tech. CSE), Power Engineering and Energy Systems (M.Tech. PE & ES), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (M.Tech. ECE).

M.Tech. Eligibility & Selection

For admission into an M.Tech program, candidates should have either a valid GATE score of the current academic session or of the previous one/qualified in the PGAT entrance examination of the respective academic session, conducted by OJEE. The candidates must fulfill the following criteria to qualify for selection.

  • Passed a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent exam in the relevant field with at least 50% marks
  • Minimum 45% marks for candidates applying in the reserved category

MCAEligibility & Selection

Those interested in admission into the MCA program must have a valid rank in the entrance examination conducted by OJEE for the respective academic session. The candidates must fulfill the following criteria to qualify for selection.

  • Passed BCA/ bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent degree, OR
  • Passed B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University
  • Minimum 50% marks in the qualifying examination
  • Minimum 45% marks for candidates applying in the reserved category
