SiliconTech’s efforts at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship have led to consistent recognition from the Government of India, including the best performing Institution Innovation Council in eastern India.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) granted autonomous status to Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar for ten years from the 2018-2019 academic year. Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar got upgraded to Silicon University on 31 January 2024. The institute is approved by AICTE, Government of India.
