The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the Department of Computer Applications at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized an AI Development Bootcamp from 8 to 29 November 2025.
The objective of the bootcamp was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of AI, focusing on its key concepts, tools, and techniques. Through interactive sessions and real-world applications, students were introduced to machine learning algorithms, data preprocessing, neural networks, and deep learning. The program was designed to ensure that participants gained both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, enabling them to build, deploy, and evaluate AI models. The goal was to prepare students for further exploration of AI in academic and professional settings.
This four-session program, conducted every Saturday, focused on equipping participants with the knowledge required to build AI-powered applications. The bootcamp was led by Mr. Akash Kumar Dash, an alumnus of the CSE department and currently a Data & AI Engineer at Accenture, who guided the students through both theoretical concepts and industry-relevant practices in AI.
Over the four Saturdays, the sessions covered a wide range of AI topics. The first session introduced the basics of AI and provided an overview of the tools used for AI development. The second session focused on machine learning algorithms and model evaluation, while the third session delved into deep learning and natural language processing (NLP). In the final session, students worked on building their own AI-powered projects, showcasing their newly acquired skills. The practical approach throughout the bootcamp ensured that students were not only learning about AI but also applying their knowledge to real-world problems.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the significant contribution of Mr. Akash Kumar Dash for his dedication and expertise in guiding the students. The bootcamp was highly appreciated by all participants, who gained valuable experience in AI development. The institute looks forward to organizing similar initiatives in the future, further bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices in the fast-evolving field of AI.
