SiliconTech celebrates 74th Republic Day by organizing a donation drive

India commemorated its 74th Republic Day on 26 January 2023. The glorious occasion was observed at SiliconTech to foster the spirit of patriotism and nationalism among its staff and students. The Zeal club of the Institute organized a donation drive on this occasion to contribute to a noble cause.

The Republic Day celebrations in the campus began early in the morning with the unfurling of the national flag by Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, our Principal. This was accompanied by the singing of the national anthem by the gathered audience. Every one present on the occasion remembered the sacrifices made by the brave hearts of our country and saluted their spirit. Our students also performed various cultural acts to add vibrance to the celebrations.

Later in the day, the members of Zeal club went to the Godabari village located near Chandaka Reserve Forest to donate clothes, food and stationery materials among the villagers. They also unfurled the national flag and sung the national anthem to celebrate Republic Day with them. More than 20 Siliconites participated in this drive.

Republic Day is celebrated every year to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution. Our constitution first came into effect on 26 January 1950.
