Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (SiliconTech) observed its 22nd Foundation Day on 10 September 2023 to commemorate the institute’s establishment, celebrate the milestones achieved, and reflect on the future goals.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, our Principal. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the stakeholders of the institute and shared insights into SiliconTech’s incredible journey since its inception.
Mr. Nitai Gaur Dhall, one of our Trustees, introduced Commodore NP Pradeep, VSM. Mr. Dhall gave an eloquent and remarkable introduction, highlighting the achievements of our esteemed Chief Guest of the day.
Commodore NP Pradeep, the Commanding Officer of INS Chilika and Naval Officer-in-Charge (NOIC) of Odisha, graced the event with his esteemed presence, accompanied by President NWWA Chilika, Mrs. Bindu Pradeep.
Commodore Pradeep delivered our Foundation Day Lecture on the topic ‘Indian Navy – Keeping Pace with Technology’. In his lecture, he followed a systematic and comprehensive approach to explain the historical evolution of the Indian Navy along with its challenges and future prospects. His thought-provoking ideas resonated with our students and faculty alike and ignited a spark of curiosity and innovation. He encouraged our students to participate in the Defence Innovation Challenge which is a remarkable initiative, aligning with our institute’s mission to foster creativity and problem-solving.
Commodore Pradeep’s insights into the opportunities for engineering graduates within the Indian Navy were invaluable. He gave our students a clear vision of the potential career paths in the defence sector.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Saroj Kanta Misra, our Director. Students, faculty members, and staff of SiliconTech attended the lecture with enthusiasm showcasing their dedication to the institution’s growth and development.
It is worth noting that SiliconTech conducted its first-ever class on September 10, 2001. Since then, this day has been celebrated as the Foundation Day of the institution, symbolizing its journey of growth and excellence in education and innovation.
