SiliconTech organized the Freshers’ Welcome for the B.Tech. 2023 admission batch on 20 October 2023.
The objective of this event was to introduce the new students to the institution, foster a sense of belongingness, and acquaint them with the campus culture.
The event began with the department welcome ceremony organized by the departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Computer Science and Technology (CST), Computer Engineering (CEN), Electronics Engineering (EE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and M.Sc. Molecular Medicine.
The 2nd year students welcomed the newly admitted students by conducting various fun events and competitions. The winners of different competitions were awarded prizes.
The grand finale edition was conducted in the North Lawn after the department welcome was over.
The students of different branches competed in the final round to win various titles. The ‘Best Singer’ title was awarded to Maharishi Tripathy (EE) and the ‘Best Dancer’ title went to Bidya Prasad (CEN). The coveted title of Mr. Silicon was won by Pranav Kumar (CEN) while the Miss Silicon title was won by Sanjana Mohanta (CSE). All the winners of the grand finale round were felicitated with mementos and certificates.
The Freshers’ Welcome concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ritish Mohanty (ECE, 2024), Secretary General, Silicon Students Council.
The event was a huge success due to the collaborative efforts of the students and faculty members.
