The Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) research group at SiliconTech was formed in the year 2012. The research in the WSN domain is on the design and development of new environment friendly products and solutions to enhance the quality of life of individuals.
The group focuses on prototyping and developing sensor related technologies for wireless networks to serve diverse real life applications. These include research on a smart IoT model for acute stroke avoidance, an IoT-based detection model for the level of autism, an IoT-based system for patient monitoring, etc
At the WSN Lab, the focus is on innovation in the field of smart monitoring of the health status of human beings, point-to-point delivery through smart flyers, agricultural target detection, monitoring, and privacy preservation. The research effort focuses on software systems, data analytics, privacy and security, and transportation. The Wireless Sensor Network research uses IoT and cloud computing as its infrastructure for chat-bot analysis.
Design and development of low-level protocols for integration into smart wearable gadgets individuals
Deployment of several sensors in the real-world scenarios and to collect required data for subsequent monitoring, detection, controlling and prevention of the unwanted losses.
Developing pervasive sensing and analytics systems to define privacy preservation of data access mechanism and to protect user security
Design and development of autonomous flyer for item delivery with end-to-end encryption and authentication
The WSN lab is equipped with Linux clustered workstations integrated with specialized hardware, modern software repository, and operating systems. Researchers work extended periods to conduct an experimental study on prototype design to execute and enhance it to an enterprise model.
The Wireless Sensor Networks research group at SiliconTech is developing an interactive, wearable hand band that will track and provide users with information on critical health parameters.

Many times people are ignorant about their health status due to the asymptomatic behavior of the inner organs. The symptoms of body parts are detected when an organ exceeds its tolerance threshold.
Minor symptoms like headache, abdomen pain, nausea, mild fever become harmful due to negligence. We hear several cases of health accidents in the news, especially of sportspersons, physical workers, and strained officials. The chances of avoiding such accidents are higher when imbalance factors are monitored and analyzed periodically using IoT-enabled devices.
To address this, we are working towards the design and development of an IoT-enabled wearable hand band. The band is integrated with few desired sensors to read body temperature, pulse rate, and other parameters relevant for cardiac functions.
The device will read the desired body parameters periodically. It is a speech technology-based device that would inform the concerned person about their health status.
By doing so, as and when the parameter reaches a certain threshold, it provides the information through different alarms. It refrains the person from continuing the current activity. It would prevent untoward health incidents to the person wearing the band.
We are developing a low-cost gadget suitable for use by any individual. The significance of this gadget is that the person wearing it can interact with it. It would be a cheap wearable gadget for self-observation and prevention.
The project is designing and developing a quadcopter to deliver items to the destination. The major components of the quadcopter are motor, electronic speed controllers, GPS module, antenna, receivers, battery monitor, gimbal, camera, and sensors. It would have the capacity to take off up to 5000 meters from sea level.
The AI/ML module in the quadcopter gathers the route information of the flights and the top points from the GPS module through its path. The location-aware principle pilots the device via a shortened air distance from the source to the destination. The hidden access control policy mechanism integrates with ciphertext policy attribute-based encryption (CPABE). It prevents unauthorized access at the destination point due to the absence of the person concerned.
The feature of this model is that it would help in the delivery of emergency items to unreachable locations such as hilltops or no-man zones. Besides that, the solar capacity-based cells are long durable. The high sensitive night vision camera and the associated module would prevent an accident with high-flying birds. The photo-sensing division of the module can measure images of the static and moving objects with less time complexity.
The quadcopter would be of great help to deliver emergency medicines during a flood, cyclone, and other natural calamity periods.
