Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

Silicon Institute of Technology established the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) at SiliconTech in 2003. The Department aims to give students knowledge and skills for the design and integration of systems, execution of new product designs, and improvement of manufacturing processes. Students learn quality assurance and improvement of the products of a firm or organization.

Specific courses provide fundamental knowledge and skills in instrumentation devices and systems, process control and instrumentation, industrial automation and control, industrial instrumentation, biomedical instrumentation, sensors and transducers, VLSI, IoT, programmable logic controllers, virtual instrumentation, microprocessors and microcontrollers, digital signal processing, communication engineering, computer networks, and operating system.

The Department of EIE is approved by AICTE.

To educate students professionally with a strong foundation in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering by promoting creativity and nurturing teamwork.

All our faculty members have specialized degrees in diversified fields of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and are prolific researchers. Fifty percent of the faculty members have a Ph.D. with their research published in Scopus indexed journals.

Teaching & Learning

SiliconTech ensures personalized instruction and individual attention to all students. Beyond classroom teaching, faculty members undertake consultancy projects which provide students with opportunities to learn through real-world industry and research work. Seminars, symposiums, and conferences organized throughout the year connect students to experts from outside the institute, introduce them to new developments in the field of instrumentation, and help them build networks.

Research Areas

Research at the Department of EIE focuses on the latest technology areas such as IoT and embedded systems, sensors, VLSI, etc. Specifically, faculty and students work in the areas of biomedical instrumentation, control system applications, IoT, FBG sensor development, VLSI, electronic devices, semiconductor nanodevices analysis and modeling, industrial process control and automation, VANET, and MANET.
